Spiritual Destinations

In Manuaba Village there are several sacred places or temples, Nakara and Sarcofagus (ancient relics) that have the potential as tourist attractions, such as:

Pura Puseh Desa Pakraman Manuaba

In this temple stored ancient relics in the form of bronze nekara equipment tools, some statues, and dimples. It is thought that this bronze nekara’s tool is a clone of the nekara in Pejeng. The discovery of fragments of this nekara in Pejeng, proves that the development of technology delays balinese society in prehistoric times has been very advanced.

Pura Griya Sakti Manuaba ( Temple )

This temple is the place where Bhatara Sakti which is a grandson of Dang Hyang Nirartha ( one of leading person in Hindu history ). There is a unique tradition during the ceremony held at Griya Sakti Manuaba Temple. This tradition is followed by all people of manuaba villagers known as “Offering of Holy Water”. Its uniqueness is in the procession of taking and delivering holy water to Griya Sakti Manuaba Temple. This holy water is taken from the spring at Damakeling Temple, which serves as a beji (a place of worship for the gods) for Griya Sakti Manuaba Temple. After the sacred water request ceremony was held, the holy water (tirta) was placed in a bamboo section that was named “pekuluh” and also “beruk” (young coconut). The pekuluh and beruk are decorated and stored to be paraded to Griya Sakti Manuaba Temple in the morning of the next day. The pekuluh and beruk are ready to be paraded by all children of  Manuaba villagers. Pekuluh is paraded by boys, while the beruk is paraded by girls. During the procession, the bridesmaids cheered to enliven the atmosphere on the way.

Pura Batulusu dan Sarcophagus (Temple)

Batulusu Temple is located in the middle of rice fields in Manuaba Village. In the temple area there are 2 sarcophagus ( in separate place ) measuring about 1x2 meters. 1 sarcophagus known for the man and another one for the woman. Puri Agung Manuaba

Puri Agung Manuaba ( Palace )

Puri Agung Manuaba comes from the Knights of  “Taman Bali” clan (from Bangli Region) that leads the Manuaba community. When Bali broke into nine small kingdoms (around 1651 AD), Puri Agung Manuaba entered the area of “Manca Agung Tegallalang” and was under the control of Bangli’s Kingdom. The clan was assigned to defend the boundary of Bangli kingdom with gianyar kingdom. But when the Kingdom of Gianyar succeeded in seizing this territory from Bangli Kingdom, then by itself Puri Agung Manuaba entered the territory of Gianyar Kingdom. And until now Puri Agung Manuaba still exist as one of the most respected palace in Tegallalang, Gianyar.

Traditional Arts

Traditional Arts

In Puri Manuaba Cultural Tourism there are several types of traditional arts both that serve only for religious rituals (sacred) and that serve as entertainment (profane) for public.

Arsitektur Rumah Tradisional

Arsitektur Rumah Tradisional

Although Puri Manuaba Cultural Tourism is not spared from the influence of modernization, but the influx of modern elements is not absorbed just like that, is accepted selectively and processed in such a way without eliminating the characteristics of their cultural identity. This also happens in the traditional house architecture used still reflects the typical balinese traditional architecture that is based on the concept of “Asta Bhumi” and “Asta Kosala-Kosali”, namely the concept of spatial arrangement for residences and sacred buildings in Bali.
